If you’re a free-spirit, consider letting your kids sleep in the next day’s clothes. My little hates pajamas, and really detests getting up in the morning. It’s unconventional, but it works for us!

Find ways to get your kids up and at ’em in the morning, usually by allowing them to do something they love (AKA bribing). Because our daughter loves cartoons, so once she’s up and dressed we allow her to watch them. It gets her to get ready with a great attitude… and she doesn’t realize it’s only 5-minutes of TV.

To prevent tangles, and inevitably the tantrums that go with them, consider braiding your child’s hair at night. This is a big source of tantrums and, ultimately, tardiness at our house.

To get out of the house quickly, effectively and without losing your coo, you need to create a system. I love Mom of the House’s storage ideas. Keep jackets, backpacks, and shoes organized and together so you’re not hunting for homework or a lost sneaker.

If you drop your kids off at school, consider a neighborhood car pool, so that you don’t have to be the one on duty every day.

Use a frozen juice box as an ice pack. The juice box will melt by lunch, but the food will remain cold.
